Amaya and Her Pitcher Plants will be on view at The Sketch Club in Philadelphia from October 4th - 27th as part of their 15th Annual Phillustration Exhibition!
Amaya and Her Pitcher Plants was inspired by my trip to the New Jersey Pine Barrens. While there I was able to see Pitcher Plants growing in their native habitat and I'm sure my expression looked very much like Amaya's does.

This is my character planning sheet for Amaya. I had a lot of fun imagining what she would take with her. I later adapted this sketch into an illustration of it's own called Backpack.
This was my last digital planning sketch I did before starting on my final.
